“So how do we win?” Leo wanted to know.

“The first team to score 11 points wins the

game,” Coach Rob declared. “According to

the International Federation of Pickleball, the

winning team must be at least two points

ahead to win.

But at camp, teams win by just one point to

speed up the game.”

“Does anyone have any other questions before

we head to the courts?” asked Coach Rob.

“Just one,” Leo said, wrinkling his nose. “Why

is it called pickleball?”

“Believe it or not, the congressman named the

game after his dog, Pickles.”

“That’s funny!” Patrick said. “But really cool,”

Jesse remarked. “I think any game named

after a dog is worth trying.”

“I couldn’t agree more,” Coach Rob told him.

“Now let’s head to the courts and pair off.”
